MARGARET ALVA SWORN IN AS GOVERNOR
Jaipur, May 12. The Governor designate
of Rajasthan Smt. Margaret Alva was sworn in as the new Governor of the State
at Rajbhawan here on Saturday evening.
Smt.Alva was administered the oath of office in Hindi by the Chief Justice of
Rajasthan High Court Shri Arun Kumar Mishra.
The
Chief Secretary Shri C.K. Mathew read the warrant of the appointment of Smt.
Alva as the Governor of Rajasthan at the Swearing in ceremony.
The
Governor was given salute by the troop of R.A.C Officers and Jawans. She also
inspected the parade. The husband of the Governor Shri Niranjan Alva, daughter
Smt. Manira Alva, sons Shri Nireth Alva, Shri Nikhil Alva and Shri Nivedith
Alva, other family members and friends were present on the occasion.
The
Chief Minister, Shri Ashok Gehlot, Members of Council of Ministers, Union
minister of State for tribal affairs Shri M.S.Khandela, Union Minister of State
for Communication and Information Technology Shri Sachin Pilot, public representatives,
Chairman of different Commissions, Judges, Vice Chancellors, Senior Officers of
Administration and Police alongwith dignitaries were also present on the
occasion.
